Kathy: I come here and imagine that this is the spot where everything I've lost since my childhood is washed out. I tell myself, if that were true, and I waited long enough then a tiny figure would appear on the horizon across the field and gradually get larger until I'd see it was Tommy. He'd wave. And maybe call. I don't know if the fantasy go beyond that, I can't let it. I remind myself I was lucky to have had any time with him at all. Hello blog it has been a long time my old friend.

I think that I should try to have hope more then optimism.
My optimism is always tied to someone or something and when it goes alway or lets me down.

I guess my previous post on Giant Drag’s website made me sound like I was complaining and made my “friends” worry about me (you should worry, about certain personal things but more so about the fact that music is suffering and affecting more than record labels, it trickles all the way down to artists that are too depressed to write songs,my creative evolution being stifled & pushing on has an incredible effect on my life, both positively & otherwise) apparently I sounded like Metallica vs. Napster?…. look what happened, yeah major labels can be evil but back in the day they sorted through the crap and said “this will sell” they also are the people who put me on tour and paid for it. They showed me the world & vice versa. Seriously, I can’t handle reading this whole article.
So… Let me let a professional writer say what I am trying to say but without the added emotion of actually living it. The frustration of this record not having a release date has an equal effect on me as it does on my fan base. Me, my best friend & a tiny handful of people I mostly don’t know exist, just want to play our songs, we want to play music and not starve to death while not compromising our integrity. Is that weird? Does that worry you?
It IS work to be in a band, a full-time job even, people with money don’t give a fuck because they don’t live in fear of where the rent money will come from because although it IS work and maybe the HARDEST work besides prostitution (no, they get paid for their services, although equally depressing at times, we give it away) there are a few of us left who decided to never give up no matter what before some of our fans were even alive READ THIS NOW and then enjoy the free mp3’s & shows (But don’t think I don’t have the utmost gratitude and more respect for my fans who have given me money when I get hungry enough to ask for help, which is the last thing I want to do) the bottom line is real artists live & spend countless hours preparing for the short time on the stage, nearly die getting there and get injured in the process. If you love what you do it’s worth it. I do. I love Giant Drag (especially the new record) and I love being in The Icarus Line.
